The Indian Rhinoceros once ranged throughout entire stretch of the Indo-Gangetic Plain but now about 3000 Rhinos live in the wild, 1800 of which are found in Assam (in Kaziranga & Manas forest) and & West Bengal (in Jaldapara, Gorumara forest).
